 The IDEA Initiative
presented by NAMI Tennessee

The IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Awareness) Initiative at NAMI Tennessee was created to support our NAMI leaders to bring the fundamentals of inclusion, diversity, and equity into their work at the community level. IDEA is an evolution of our former BIPOC committee, revamped to meet the needs of the communities that we serve.

Mission and Vision

Mission statement:
The IDEA Initiative is guided by values that promote and nurture intersectional equity and the inclusion and empowerment of underrepresented people and communities in all the work we do.

We envision an alliance where all individuals- regardless of any dimension of diversity, feel valued and respected while working to enhance the lives of those affected by mental illness.
